Ran across your blog by way of Matt Krotzer's comments on WoW Insider, who referenced your podcast partner, who of course referenced you. Now that that's out of the way...

...I was attracted to the title of this post without realizing it had to do with dating, but whatever's whatever, it's all good. Yes, I like to think of myself like the Doctor from Doctor Who (without the time machine, genius intellect and sonic whatsits): I'll strike up a conversation with anyone because I like to have interesting convos.

Having said that, as a dude, the three pickup lines (it happens, but rarer, for us) I remember most are: "Don't you remember me?", "Tell me I'm beautiful," and "If you've got a beer in your mouth, how are you going to kiss me?"

The first two put me on guard because they made me feel awkward. No, I didn't remember her, so I didn't know what to say. ("Uh...no. Er, sorry..."?) And, yes, while she was beautiful, I can't very tell a woman that I've only just met, can I?

The final one got to me because of her boldness, but again, I was 20 years old. I had zero game and thought it was a criticism of my drinking, not an invitation to kiss.

Considering this post was from 2006, I feel like you're late to the game. Are you going around looking for Nurse-In blog posts and copy/pasting the same comment? I wouldn't be surprised if you were.

Let me break it down for you sweetie. Nursing mothers don't want to be exposed. No one is going around flashing passersby while trying to feed their hungry baby. If you do catch a glimpse of a nipple for a second, it is because you are starring and WANT to see something. Plain and simple.

Your mentality is what is wrong. Your last statement about the woman who didn't cover up is false. If you had actually read up on the reason we were protesting at the airport, you would have know that the woman was in a middle seat on the airplane, her daughter at the window, the mother with her back to the aisle. So unless the stewardess was climbing over other passengers to look, there is no way she saw anything.

Educate yourself before you go posting so you don't look so uneducated.

"South Coast mothers say they hope to change negative views of nursing in public."

As a mother of an infant it baffles me that these women think that by exposing their breasts people are going to think "Gee, what a great thing these women are doing!!! Good for them." The truth is, most people don't care if you breastfeed, just don't pull out your breast and have your baby dangling from your nipple. If I was sitting next to this woman I DEFINITELY would have complained. Breastfeeding moms out there- I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOUR BREASTS!! So please use something to cover yourselves up and stop making such an issue about a woman who was too inconsiderate to cover herself up.
